Social Cognition Laboratory

Social cognition is the subfield of social psychology that studies the mental representations and processes that underlie social perception, social judgment, and social influence.

The people in this group are involved in research into many aspects of social psychology, including (but not limited to): attitudes, impression formation, romantic relationships, adult attachment, stereotyping, social identity, decision-making, and counterfactual thinking.

We are keen to recruit motivated students with a background in psychology or other related field, for postgraduate study (MSc or PhD). For information and enquiries, see the departmental postgraduate study pages. Undergraduate students interested in gaining lab experience should contact one of the researchers to find out more.
